General Policy
I typically read and review books within the young adult and fantasy/paranormal genres. I do sometimes read and review something in other genres, such as chick lit, mystery, and suspense that I include as well.
I haven't posted reviews for all the books I have read in the past, but I am currently reviewing books as I read them. I try to post both good and bad reviews. I typically don't have very many bad reviews because I only read books that I think I will enjoy, and if I don't enjoy it, I won't even finish it. Why waste my time on a book I am not enjoying?
I will always post an honest review. I don't see the point in having a book blog if I am not going to be honest. If I post a negative review for a book, please don't let it discourage you from reading it if you want to read it. Just because I don't enjoy a book doesn't mean you won't.
Rating System
My reviews are based on a 1-5 star rating system. I actually use smiley faces instead of stars, because I am a happy person and wanted something different! It means the same thing though. Typically, a book that earns a 5 has blown me away. A book that earns a 1 is probably terrible. More than likely I will never have any that earn a 1 because if it is that bad, I won't even finish reading it. My reviews include cover art, the description given on Goodreads, my own summary, my personal thoughts, and a rating.
Authors and Publishers
I am more than happy to accept Advanced Reader Copies from authors and publishers to read and review. I have the right to decline any offer. I like to enjoy what I am reading, and if I don't think I will enjoy the book you are offering, I will probably decline it. I don't want to accept a book that I possibly won't finish or write a review for. However, if I do accept a book and decide that I am not enjoying it, I also have the right to stop reading it and pass on writing a review as well.
