About Me
My name is Ann. I live in central Minnesota where the seasons are: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction. :) Actually, I don't find it so bad anymore, but it would be nice to sit outside and read a book more than a couple of days out of the year.
I currently work at an elementary school as an education assistant. I work with 2nd and 3rd graders in reading. I have a longer reading class, along with several smaller reading groups throughout the day. I also do some one-on-one work with a few students. In my free time, I like to read (of course!), crochet, write letters, watch movies, travel, scrapbook, sew, coupon, and several other things. I don't think I have found anything that I don't like to do. I spend most of the winter inside reading a book or crocheting, but am hoping to learn how to ski or go ice fishing this winter so I get some time outside.
My favorite place to be is in the library, a bookstore, or a coffee shop. I especially love a Barnes and Noble WITH a coffee shop. However, I don't have one of those around here. So someday, I plan on opening my own book store with a coffee shop. I think I love both books and coffee equally.
Some of my favorite authors include Kristin Hannah, Diane Chamberlain, Kelly Keaton, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Suzanne Collins, Sara Shepard, John Grisham, Alyson Noel, Rachel Vincent, Melissa Marr, Richelle Mead, Tess Gerritsen, MaryJanice Davidson, and Nora Roberts. My absolute favorite book is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Actually, the whole series is my favorite. It opened a new world to me. I wasn't interested in vampires at all when the Twilight books/movies started becoming a huge hit. It wasn't until I read Vampire Academy that I was in love!
Why I blog:
I blog because I just love books. I have considered starting a book journal, and intend to do that soon, because I don't want the book to be over when I read the last page. I want to continue thinking about it and talking with others about it! A really good book gives you that opportunity. I love feeling like I can "get away" when I write on my blog. The only people who really understand my love for books are my fellow bloggers. So really, they are what keep me going!
